Objectives
The simulator ticks each one as soon as the network meets it.
On both switches, create VLANs 10 and 20 and port-channel 1 as a trunk carrying both.
Add ports 1 and 2 to port-channel 1 with LACP on both switches.
On SW2, put port 3 in VLAN 10 and port 4 in VLAN 20.
On SW1, give VLAN 10 the address 192.168.10.1/24 and VLAN 20 the address 192.168.20.1/24.
Ping PC2 (192.168.20.10) from PC1.
Before you start
Configure the port-channel before its members, because the members take their switching settings from it. A member with different settings would stay out of the bundle on a real switch.
Concept
EtherChannel / Eth-Trunk with LACP
Link aggregation bundles parallel links into one logical link. Spanning tree then sees a single port, so all links forward at once instead of one being blocked, and traffic moves to the remaining links if one fails.
Concept
Inter-VLAN routing on a Layer 3 switch (SVI / VLANIF)
A Layer 3 switch can route between its own VLANs. Each VLAN gets a virtual interface (Cisco SVI interface vlan 10, Huawei interface Vlanif 10) holding that VLAN’s gateway address, so no external router or trunk is needed.
