Objectives
The simulator ticks each one as soon as the network meets it.
Find why traffic for 192.168.20.0/24 is not steered into GREEN (show segment-routing traffic-eng policy, show bgp ipv4 unicast 192.168.20.0/24).
Fix the end-point: it must be PE2, 5.5.5.5, the BGP next hop of the route.
Fix the color: PE2 must color 192.168.20.0/24 with 10, the color of GREEN.
PC1 → PC3 now rides GREEN through P2 and P3.
Before you start
Steering needs both to match: the route’s color equals the policy’s color, and the route’s BGP next hop equals the policy’s end-point. A policy that is up but matches no route carries nothing; the route quietly takes the default path.
Concept
Steering traffic into a policy: color and autoroute
Routes are steered into an SR-TE policy in two ways. With automated steering, a BGP route whose color extended community equals the policy’s color, and whose next hop equals the policy’s end-point, uses the policy. With autoroute, every IGP route through the end-point uses it, color or not. Everything else takes the default path: the SR (or LDP) shortest path.
