Objectives
The simulator ticks each one as soon as the network meets it.
Find why the pseudowire is down (show mpls l2transport vc detail on PE1 and PE2).
Fix the peer: PE2 must peer with PE1’s loopback 1.1.1.1, not an interface address, and with VC ID 100.
Fix the MTU: the customer ports must match, so remove mtu 1600 from PE2.
The pseudowire is up, and PC1 pings 192.168.100.2.
Before you start
The peer must be the far PE’s loopback, the VC ID must match on both ends, and both ends signal the same MTU. show mpls l2transport vc detail prints the last error for each pseudowire.
Concept
Pseudowires: Ethernet through an MPLS core
A pseudowire makes an MPLS core look like one long cable between two customer ports, called attachment circuits. The ingress PE pushes two labels on each frame: an inner VC label that names the far attachment circuit, and an outer transport label that carries it across the core. LDP signals the VC label between the two PEs, directly, through a session that may cross many routers.
