Objectives
The simulator ticks each one as soon as the network meets it.
Enable feature ospf on N1 and N2.
Create router ospf 1 with router-id 1.1.1.1 on N1 and 2.2.2.2 on N2.
Add ip router ospf 1 area 0.0.0.0 to Ethernet1/1 and Ethernet1/2 on both switches.
show ip ospf neighbors shows the other switch FULL.
Ping PC2 (192.168.20.10) from PC1.
Before you start
The process tag after "router ospf" is a name on NX-OS (often 1, but UNDERLAY or CORE work too). The area is usually written dotted: area 0.0.0.0. A network statement is rejected.
Concept
NX-OS: features, and routing configured on the interface
Cisco NX-OS loads each protocol as a separate process only when you ask for it. Until "feature ospf", "feature interface-vlan", "feature hsrp", "feature lacp" or "feature pim" is entered, that protocol’s commands do not exist and are rejected as invalid. Routing itself is always on (there is no ip routing), and OSPF is enabled on each interface rather than with network statements.
Concept
OSPF: link-state routing and cost
OSPF routers share a map of the network (link-state advertisements) and each runs the shortest path first (SPF) algorithm on it. The best path is the one with the lowest total cost, not the fewest hops.
