Objectives
The simulator ticks each one as soon as the network meets it.
R1: OSPF 1 router-id 1.1.1.1, all interfaces in area 1.
R2: G0/0/1 in area 1 and G0/0/0 in area 0 (router-id 2.2.2.2).
R3: all interfaces in area 0 (router-id 3.3.3.3).
On R2, summarize 172.16.0.0/16 for area 1 (abr-summary).
Make area 1 totally stubby: stub on R1, stub no-summary on R2.
Ping PC2 from PC1.
Before you start
Huawei network statements go under area . abr-summary and stub are area-view commands. In a totally stubby area R1 only receives a default route.
Concept
Multi-area OSPF, summaries and stub areas
Large OSPF networks are split into areas around the backbone, area 0. An area border router (ABR) sits in both and passes routes between them as summary LSAs, which keeps each area’s database small.
