Objectives
The simulator ticks each one as soon as the network meets it.
On L1 and L2, show fabricpath switch-id: two switches claim the same switch-id, and one has withdrawn from the fabric.
Give L2 its own switch-id: fabricpath switch-id 12.
show fabricpath topology on L2: VLAN 10 is not a FabricPath VLAN there. Put it in mode fabricpath.
Ping PC2 (192.168.10.20) from PC1.
Before you start
A switch-id must be unique in the fabric: the switch with the higher system MAC gives way and stops forwarding. A VLAN in mode ce (classic Ethernet) is never carried over FabricPath ports, even when every link is up.
Concept
FabricPath: routing Layer 2 frames between switch-ids
FabricPath replaces spanning tree inside the data-center core. Every switch has a switch-id, and FabricPath IS-IS computes shortest paths between switch-ids over all FabricPath links, so no core link is blocked and equal-cost paths are all used. Frames from classic Ethernet are encapsulated with the source and destination switch-id at the edge.
